Ayodele and Derin are the visionaries behind Real Afro Unity, a platform created to reconnect the African diaspora with the culture, heritage, and spirit of the continent.
For Ayodele, this mission is deeply personal. Living between the United States and Nigeria, he has experienced both the distance and the connection that many in the diaspora feel toward Africa. That perspective inspired a bigger idea: creating a pathway for people to return, rediscover their roots, and experience the continent in a way that goes far beyond tourism.
Together with Derin, whose passion for cultural connection and community building helped shape the vision, they founded Real Afro Unity to create something meaningful, a bridge between worlds. What began as a shared belief has grown into a movement designed to help members of the diaspora reconnect with identity, heritage, and belonging.
Through their flagship experience, The Homecoming, Ayodele and Derin are creating curated journeys that allow travelers to experience Nigeria through culture, community, and authentic connection — not as visitors, but as family returning home.
